Location
The Domenigoni Valley is south of the community of Winchester in Riverside County, California. Domenigoni Valley is about 5 miles southwest of Hemet; 60 miles north of San Diego; and 90 miles east of Los Angeles.

The Domenigoni Valley includes lands southwest of the Rawson Hills and portions of what is now Diamond Valley Lake and the Diamond Valley West Recreation Area.

The valley is traversed by Winchester Road, Highway 79 which connects Hemet-San Jacinto Valleys to the north with the Murrieta-Temecula Valleys to the south. Scott Road serves as the primary east-west corridor linking Winchester Road with the 215 Freeway.

USGS Feature Name
The "Domenigoni Valley" name is listed with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) at http://geonames.usgs.gov. The valley is on the USGS 7.5' Winchester Quadrangle map, Latitude 33 39 37 North, Longitude 117 05 49 West.

Domenigoni-Barton Properties
The Domenigoni-Barton Properties encompass over 1,700 acres in the valley. A master-planned community is being designed for this location to serve as a focal point for the growing Winchester community. The properties within the 1,734-acre Domenigoni-Barton Specific Plan area are currently in rural/agricultural uses with a variety of topographical features and uses including: flat farmland in the north, central and southeastern portions of the site; gently rolling hillsides within the lower portion of the site to the north and south of Scott Road; and steep hillsides primarily along the northwest boundaries of the properties to the north of Craig Avenue, as well as scattered within the site. Elevations range from 1,420 feet above mean sea level along the south-central portions of the site to 1,800 feet MSL along the northern portions of the property. Ridgelines generally trend toward the west. Canyons trending southwest provide natural drainage of the area. Existing man-made on-site features include the San Diego Canal which flows north/south along the southeastern boundary of the site, the buried San Diego Aqueduct / pipeline, which transects the site in s southwest to northeast direction; and scattered farm structures and homes associated with past and curent farming / dairy activities. Residential and the French Valley Airport are to the southeast. Two specific plans for residentially oriented communities - Winchester Hills and The Crossroads at Winchester - are planned to the north and northwest of the Domenigoni-Barton Properties site. Currently, eight Specific Plans have been approved within a 5-mile radius of the project site. The proposed Metropolitan Water District Diamond Valley Lake site is located directly to the east of the Domenigoni-Barton Properties project area.
